Next Monday, February 16, 2026 , at 10:00 a.m. (CET, Peninsular Time) , the COREnet Advisinar – February 2026 webinar will be held online, a webinar on advice focused on how to organize shared local facilities to reduce transformation costs in short food supply chains (SFSC) .
The meeting is part of the “Local Food Advisors’ Journey 2026” initiative, a joint campaign by COREnet and EU4Advice that promotes exchange between advisors and strengthens the European Advisory Network for Short Food Supply Chains (EAN-SFSC) through webinars and other practical learning activities.
A case study: mobile slaughter of birds in Austria, with examples from the Netherlands
The conference will focus on the Austrian approach to a mobile poultry slaughter facility as a best practice, complemented by other examples from the Netherlands . Shared processing models for small producers will be analyzed, highlighting benefits such as cost efficiency , regional value creation , and animal welfare .
Among the cases to be addressed is Maschinenring Tyrol , a service provider that, through its mobile slaughtering solution, supports direct sales on the farm , avoids unnecessary transport and helps to keep the added value in the territory .
