The UPV and Poscosecha.com launch the VII Postharvest Technology Course for citrus and emerging crops in the Mediterranean

The Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), together with the Higher Technical School of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering (ETSIAMN) and Poscosecha.com, announces the celebration of the VII Postharvest Technology Course – Citrus and Emerging Crops in the Mediterranean Region , which will take place from January 21 to March 6, 2026 , combining face-to-face and online modalities .
This training program has established itself as an international benchmark in the post-harvest field, offering a comprehensive view of conservation, processing and packaging technologies applied to the most relevant crops in the Mediterranean area: citrus fruits, persimmon, avocado, kiwi, pomegranate, stone fruit, berries, nuts and vegetables , among others.
Specialized training to reduce losses and guarantee quality
The objective of the course is to acquire, update or deepen knowledge of the latest advances in post-harvest technology, in order to preserve the quality and safety of fruits and vegetables, as well as minimize food waste , a key challenge for the competitiveness of the agri-food sector.
Aimed at professionals and new talent in the sector
The course is aimed at professionals from fruit and vegetable companies, technicians from packing warehouses, buyers from distribution chains, quality managers, technology and service providers, as well as undergraduate, master's and doctoral students interested in specializing in post-harvest.
Each edition brings together more than 50 participants from Spain and Latin America , making this course a space for technical exchange and networking among different profiles in the sector.

The program will feature 36 researchers, UPV professors and specialists from prestigious centers , along with experts from leading companies in post-harvest technology, guaranteeing rigorous, applied training geared towards the real needs of the sector.
Course price (Participants from Spanish companies can obtain public subsidies for their registration through the FUNDAE Foundation. In addition, there are 10 scholarships available for students enrolled at the UPV).
