The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) will present the AKIS Advisors Platform at the 2nd National Meeting of Phytoma Advisors

The 2nd National Meeting of Advisors , organized by Phytoma in collaboration with the Valencian Regional Government's Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries , has published its final program . The event will be held on December 10th and 11th at the Feria Valencia Events Center and will bring together professionals in agronomic consulting and integrated pest management from across Spain.
Under the slogan “The Advisor: a key figure in a healthy, competitive and environmentally compatible agriculture” , the meeting seeks to consolidate itself as the main forum for reflection, updating and debate on the challenges of this essential figure for the sustainability of the agri-food system.
MAPA's participation: presentation of the AKIS Advisors Platform
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) will play a prominent role in this edition, through the intervention of Carlos Salamanca Fresco , technician of the General Sub-Directorate of Innovation and Digitalization .
Her presentation, entitled “Works of the Ministry of Agriculture in the area of advice and knowledge exchange: upcoming calls for PEPAC aid, information repositories (Eu Farmbook and AKIS Platform) and tests of digital technology in La Vega Innova” , will offer a strategic vision on the lines of action of the MAPA to strengthen agricultural advisory services and promote the exchange of knowledge among the actors of the AKIS system.
During his speech, Salamanca will officially present the AKIS Advisors Platform , the digital tool promoted by the MAPA to connect advisors, researchers, cooperatives, entities and innovative projects throughout Spain, facilitating access to technical information, training and useful resources for decision-making in the field.
A high-level technical program
The program of the 2nd Meeting addresses key issues such as the professional profile of the advisor and their legal obligations , the implementation of the Digital Agricultural Holding Notebook , the responsible use of plant protection products , the application of sustainable practices in plant health and the new digital tools that are transforming technical work.
Emerging threats to crops (such as Thrips parvipinus , Scirtothrips aurantii , the green vine mosquito or Ceratitis capitata ) will also be analyzed, in addition to viral diseases and resistance in weeds of perennial crops.
The meeting will feature around thirty presentations and four round tables , with the participation of leading experts from reference centers such as CSIC , IVIA , CICYTEX , IMIDA , IFAPA or INTIA , along with researchers from various universities and regional plant health services.
Space for advisors and practical experiences
In addition to the technical sessions, the event will reserve a space for the presentation of technical posters and oral communications , where the advisors themselves can share working methodologies, digital tools, field experiences or training resources.
Following the success of the first edition —which brought together more than 600 participants from different autonomous communities and countries—, this second call aims to reinforce the role of the advisor as a key element in the sustainability, competitiveness and food security of the agricultural system.
