Description

The EUROACE Euroregion and the Alqueva system's area of influence comprise one of the most important agricultural hubs in southwestern Iberia, where strategic crops, technological innovation, and shared water resources between Spain and Portugal converge. This event will bring together producers, technicians, investors, and institutions to analyze the main challenges and opportunities across three key areas:

Strategic crops and their future

Climate change adaptation, sustainability, varietal innovation, and resource efficiency in sectors such as olive groves, processing tomatoes, stone fruit, cereals, rice, and vineyards.

Water management

The role of the Alqueva system in irrigation modernization, Spanish-Portuguese cooperation, water efficiency, and solutions to climate challenges.

Territorial issues and the evolution of rural land

Trends in the agricultural farm market, opportunities in renewable energy and rural tourism, and the multifunctionality of the territory as a driver of investment and development.

Through roundtable discussions and case studies, new rural business opportunities linked to tourism, digitalization, and the bioeconomy will also be addressed.
