Description

This Task Force addresses the current problems of carob (Ceratonia siliqua L.) cultivation related to plant propagation, the selection of new varieties that better adapt to current commercial demands, the sustainability of the crop, and the nutritional value of carob, in order to give it greater added value and thus improve its commercial prospects.

Due to the interest of the carob sector in improving all phases, from cultivation to processing and the final product, the group's creation is initially being disseminated through this website. Outreach activities will subsequently be carried out among farmers in the sector, based on the results obtained.

Objectives
  • Improve the economic results of producers and industries involved in the carob value chain by increasing the profitability of their cultivation.
