Valorization and new market for sawn timber from Catalonia with special dimensions and characteristics

The creation of the Operative Group for the valorisation of Catalan wood of special dimensions and characteristics has had the participation of 4 partners, forming a public-private partnership. The initial idea was to prospect and carry out a qualitative diagnosis on the possible interest that this type of wood (planked and dried wood of special dimensions and characteristics of cherry, oak, maple, etc.) could arouse, for non-conventional or more traditional uses, analysing the market and the possible business model, as well as carrying out the first sawing tests with cost and performance estimates.
