Operational Group: Conca d'Òdena Agrarian Park

Objectives
  • The overall objective of the Conca d'Òdena Agrarian Park is to promote the development of an agri-food model based on quality and local products. This will contribute to making it resilient to climate change and less dependent on the global market. It will also promote the transformation of raw materials through the development of agroindustry, enabling the sustainable management of the agroforestry mosaic and the provision of ecosystem services. It will also encourage the development of dynamic economic activities associated with agricultural activity and the region, and make a balanced, quality diet based on local products accessible to the entire population. Finally, it will become an economic driver by generating quality employment in the agri-food sector and associated activities.
  • The following specific objectives result from this general objective:
    • 1. To highlight the agricultural activity and the landscape, cultural and environmental components of the territorial area included within the Agrarian Park.
    • 2. Promote the diversification and revitalization of agricultural activity through the cultivation and/or use of species and varieties with high added value and that allow for differentiation, such as wild edible species and traditional varieties.
    • 3. Support the progressive and free transition towards sustainable/high nature value agriculture/livestock farming.
    • 4. Promote the use of renewable energy on farms to improve their energy efficiency and mitigate climate change.
    • 5. Increase the resilience to climate change of the agricultural sector and the agroforestry mosaic.
    • 6. Promote the transformation of raw materials through the development of a locally rooted agroindustry that focuses on quality and innovation, and that allows for the generation of high-value-added derivative products.
    • 7. Generate innovative experiences that can be extrapolated to other locations in the Mediterranean region, making the Conca d'Òdena region a benchmark in the agri-food model of the future.
    • 8. Facilitate direct sales and access to local food products for the entire population.
    • 9. Guarantee a fair selling price for agricultural and food products.
    • 10. Promote a local, varied and healthy diet, especially among children and young people.
    • 11. Use the territory as a tool for economic revitalization, utilizing agricultural, livestock, or forestry uses, and cultural landscapes as value.
    • 12. Raise awareness among the urban population about the importance of sustainable management of the agroforestry mosaic through agriculture, livestock farming, and forest management, for the provision of quality food, ecosystem services, and prevention of forest fires.
    • 13. Highlight the individual responsibility we have as consumers and the potential positive externalities derived from a particular consumption model.
    • 14. Define a joint territorial promotion strategy among all municipalities, using the Agrarian Park brand as the main asset.
    • 15. Promote communication and synergies between the different actors that make up the Agrarian Park.
