Description
Achieving more sustainable horticulture by implementing agro-environmental measures that maximize crop productivity through the intensification of ecological processes using functional biodiversity.
Objectives
- Restore biodiversity and its functionality in providing pest control services in areas of intensive agriculture, reducing pesticide use and improving landscape quality.
- Optimize integrated pest management protocols to detect practices that interfere with the activity of auxiliaries.
- Promote the implementation of these strategies in the production sector through existing agro-environmental aid.
Results
- Design, establishment and maintenance of different specific ecological infrastructures for different fruit and vegetable crops that promote biological control for conservation and the presence of pollinators, ensuring the commercial availability of seeds and plants of interest for the establishment of ecological infrastructures, optimizing their production and supply to the sector
- Review and improvement of integrated pest management protocols on farms.
- Results of surveys conducted in the production sector to identify the reasons for the lack of adoption of agri-environmental aid.
