Description
Achieve more sustainable horticulture by implementing agro-environmental measures that maximize crop productivity through the intensification of ecological processes using functional biodiversity.
Objectives
- Restore biodiversity and its functionality in providing pest control services in areas of intensive agriculture, reducing pesticide use and improving landscape quality.
- Optimize integrated pest management protocols to detect practices that interfere with the activity of auxiliaries.
- Promote the implementation of these strategies in the production sector through existing agro-environmental aid.
Results
- Design, establishment and maintenance of different ecological infrastructures specific to different fruit and vegetable crops that promote biological control for conservation and the presence of pollinators.
- Ensure the commercial availability of seeds and plants of interest for the establishment of ecological infrastructures, optimising their production and supply to the sector.
- Review and improvement of farm integrated pest management protocols.
- Results of surveys carried out in the production sector to detect the causes of the lack of adoption of agro-environmental aid.
