Description
Promote an innovative soil management model for extensive rainfed production systems, aimed at improving organic matter and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, in line with the 4 per thousand strategy.
Objectives
- Evaluation of agronomic practices aimed at conserving and increasing soil organic matter and its stabilization in the medium and long term.
- Evaluation of agronomic practices aimed at increasing soil resistance to erosion and reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production of extensive dryland crops in Spain.
- Characterization of Spanish extensive dryland agrosystems based on usual rotation, climate, soil type, etc.
- To provide broad and clear information on the effects of the different actions carried out on typical farms.
Results
- Development of a practical catalogue of soil management measures adapted to different agronomic systems.
- Establishment of indicators that allow the analysis of the effect of the different management measures in the selected agronomic systems, Identification of early indicators capable of measuring the effectiveness of the good practices introduced in the short term.
- Report on the characterization of extensive rainfed agrosystems.
- Preparation of dissemination materials.
