Description
Promote an innovative soil management model for extensive rainfed production systems, aimed at improving organic matter and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, in line with the 4 per thousand strategy.
Objectives
- Evaluation of agronomic practices aimed at conserving and increasing soil organic matter and its stabilization in the medium and long term.
- Evaluation of agronomic practices aimed at increasing soil resistance to erosion and reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production of extensive dryland crops in Spain.
- Characterization of Spanish extensive dryland agrosystems based on usual rotation, climate, soil type, etc.
- To provide broad and clear information on the effects of the different actions carried out on typical farms.
Results
- Development of a practical catalogue of soil management measures adapted to different agronomic systems.
- Establishment of indicators that allow for analysis of the effect of different management measures on selected agronomic systems, Identification of early indicators capable of measuring the short-term effectiveness of the good practices introduced.
- Report on the characterization of extensive dryland agrosystems.
- Preparation of dissemination materials.
