Description
It proposes to improve the efficiency of water and energy use at the plot scale, defining a system of management indicators and applying a comparative analysis to extract value from shared macro-data.
Objectives
- Propose solutions that allow for the measurement, comparison and continuous improvement of the efficiency of water and energy use at the plot level.
- To develop and test a computer program for calculating and comparing the efficiency of water and energy use at the plot scale for the Foia del Pou irrigation community applied to the cultivation of fruit trees using localized irrigation.
- Promote the transfer of this management tool to other crops, other geographical areas and other irrigation systems.
Results
- Document identifying problems to be solved, requirements and specifications for the computer program derived from participatory co-creation workshops.
- Dossier with informative sheets on best practices that address the problems and needs detected.
- Analysis and comparison of data from previous and current campaigns, detection of inefficiencies and improvements in indicators with changes in cultural practices and incorporation of photovoltaic solar energy.
- Training of managers and users in the use of the tool.
- Project results presented at national and international level in conferences, congresses and scientific and dissemination publications.
