Description
It proposes to improve the efficiency of water and energy use at the plot scale, defining a system of management indicators and applying comparative analysis to extract value from shared macro-data.
Objectives
- Propose solutions that allow for measuring, comparing, and continuously improving the efficiency of water and energy use at the plot level.
- Develop and test a software program for calculating and comparing the efficiency of water and energy use at the plot scale for the Foia del Pou irrigation community, applied to the cultivation of fruit trees under localized irrigation.
- Promote the transfer of this management tool to other crops, other geographical areas and other irrigation systems
Results
- Document identifying problems to be solved, requirements and specifications for the software derived from the participatory co-creation workshops
- Dossier with information sheets on best practices that address the problems and needs identified
- Analysis and comparison of data from previous and current campaigns, detection of inefficiencies and improvements in indicators with changes in cultural practices and incorporation of photovoltaic solar energy
- Training of managers and users in the use of the tool
- Project results presented nationally and internationally at conferences, congresses, and in scientific and popular publications.
