Description
Design of a tool, a web mapping server, for monitoring cereal crops by remote sensing that allows early detection and intervention in production anomalies and optimizing the use of inputs.
Objectives
- Define the tool's functionalities based on the needs of technicians and farmers and the technical and scientific possibilities available.
- Improve and predict the monitoring of production by plots and optimize the use of inputs (fertilizers, phytosanitary products) through the use of the developed AGROTIG GIS tool.
- Train technicians in the use of Geographic Information Technologies (GIT) and in the use of the tool.
- Promote the transfer of knowledge in the field of TIG and inform potential beneficiaries about the project.
Results
- Design of an operational tool that meets the needs of farmers.
- Detection of possible production anomalies.
- Comparison with previous years and forecast, lower and better use of inputs in cereal crops.
- Adequate training to understand and use the tool.
- Improving consumer perception of the efforts made by farmers and stakeholders to reduce the environmental impact of agriculture, and increasing awareness of the tool among technicians and farmers.
