Abstract

The objective of the GOPHYTOVID project is to demonstrate and practically minimize the use of chemical pesticides in viticulture and evaluate the practical application of bioprotective alternatives in Spanish vineyards.

Description

The Task Force is composed of a multidisciplinary team, with the participation of leading research groups and technology-based companies, working in collaboration with wineries and wine producers, as well as some of the most influential associations in the sector. This multidisciplinary and supra-regional nature will allow for a significant transfer of knowledge to the wine sector, transforming the existing scientific and technological base into real, useful solutions for winegrowers.

Objectives

GOPHYTOVID aims to demonstratively and practically minimize the use of chemical pesticides in viticulture and evaluate the practical application of bioprotective alternatives in Spanish vineyards. This is achieved by applying existing technologies for analyzing vegetation and/or vigor maps and high-efficiency treatment equipment to optimize chemical treatments and minimize the environmental impact and risk to people, while reducing economic costs.

Results

ul>

  • Reduction in application volume by achieving reductions in those areas of less vigor in the plot
  • Maintaining and potentially improving the effectiveness of pest and disease control treatments in vines, in addition to a reduction in application volumes.
  • Reduction in the amount of phytosanitary product
  • Development and application of alternative strategies to the use of chemical phytosanitary products: biocontrol agents
  • Increased economic benefits and improved technological levels of farms
