Description
Preserve, restore, and improve the agricultural use of soils in "solar farms" so that photovoltaic installations do not displace agricultural and livestock farms, while improving their energy efficiency.
Objectives
- Improve the economic results of agricultural/livestock farms thanks to the coexistence and symbiosis with photovoltaic installations "solar farms"
- Search for optimal plant species to grow on the plots where the "solar gardens" are installed
- Restore and prevent soil erosion in plots where solar farms are installed, while improving the energy efficiency of photovoltaic modules.
Results
- Development of a database on solar farms and their possible coexistence with agricultural and livestock farms on the land where they are installed.
- Preparation of an economic feasibility report in relation to the implemented crops
- Implementation of crops adapted to the soil and climate conditions of the area where the photovoltaic plants are located, allowing for increased efficiency in the use of solar energy at ground level while minimizing the negative effects of photovoltaic installations on crops.
- Preparation of an environmental sustainability study for photovoltaic soils and a prospective and redesign study for solar agro-installations with soil cultivation.
- Design and implementation of a platform for replicability of the agrovoltaic system
