Description

The report that the RTVCyL program Surcos dedicated to the MYCOWINE Operational Group is now available on YouTube, a project that is demonstrating how mycorrhizae and soil biotechnology can transform viticulture towards more sustainable, resilient and higher quality models.

The broadcast, titled “From Soil to Glass: Mycorrhizae that Save the Grape and Elevate the Wine,” features testimonials from participating researchers and wineries, who clearly explain how incorporating mycorrhizal fungi into vineyard management allows for:

  • Strengthen the microbial biodiversity of the soil.
  • Improve the health and vigor of the strains.
  • Increase the quality of the grapes and the wine.
  • Increase resilience to water stress and the effects of climate change.

The report also shows the actual work in the field and the collaboration between science and wineries, allowing us to visualize the potential of this innovation in different wine-growing regions.

MYCOWINE is an Operational Group funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and is led by IDForest and Vitartis , with the participation of six reference wineries from Castilla y León and La Rioja.
