Solar collectors that are good for your pocket and the environment
Description
A study by a team of researchers supported by the EU-funded ASTEP (Application of Solar Thermal Energy to Processes) project has developed cutting-edge solar collectors for industrial processes. SunDial technology promises to reduce production costs and carbon emissions in a range of industries.
Professor Antonio Rovira, coordinator of the ASTEP project at the National University of Distance Education (Spain), believes that this technology can help reduce energy consumption and maintain productivity. Referring to the dairy company 's needs for both steam generation and cooling, the researcher comments: "The ASTEP project proposes a viable concept to demonstrate the feasibility of using solar thermal energy for heating and cooling, which is cost-effective and environmentally responsible."
