The MujerForest project trains rural women for green employability
Description
MujerForest is a free green training and employability project aimed primarily at women in the rural areas of the Sierra Morena in Seville , within the framework of bioeconomy and sustainable forest management.
It is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) at 85% , within the 2024 Call of the Empleaverde+ Program , managed by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge .
The project's main objective is to generate new professional opportunities in rural areas with depopulation problems, promote entrepreneurship linked to the forestry sector, and encourage the incorporation and leadership of women in the sustainable management of the territory.
At least 70% of the participants will be women , thus guaranteeing the effective promotion of equal opportunities and the strengthening of the rural socio-economic fabric within the Sierra Morena Natural Park of Seville .
MujerFOREST is being developed in ten rural municipalities of the Sierra Morena Natural Park of Seville, a territory of high environmental and socio-economic value that faces important challenges linked to depopulation and the transformation of the rural sector.
Within the framework of the project's evolution and its open and progressive nature, the program expands its territorial scope , allowing the incorporation of participants from other territories: Andalusia
Castilla-La Mancha
Estremadura
In this way, MujerFOREST maintains its roots in the territory of origin, while facilitating access to training, support and technical content to interested people from other communities, adapting to different paces and professional realities.
