Machinery Renewal Plan 2024 to promote practices with covers in line with "Carbon Farming"
Description
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will allocate 9.55 million euros in aid to the Plan for the Renewal of the National Agricultural Machinery Park, known as the “Plan Renove”, for the year 2024. This is the largest budget granted to date for these plans.
Deadline until September 15 for the 2024 Agricultural Machinery Renewal Plan
The application period for grants will be open from August 8 to September 15 , inclusive.
The 2024 "Renewal Plan" has two different lines : one with 4.55 million euros to finance the acquisition of direct seeding seeders , and another with 5 million euros for the rest of the machinery, tractors and vehicles specified in the order. If at the end of the application period there are funds available in either of the two lines, they can be used to satisfy the waiting list.
Promoting green roofs with the help of Renove
This year , the regulatory bases have been modified to include equipment for the management of plant covers among the eligible machines . Specifically, these are models of brush cutters, brush cutter rollers, weeders and inter-row ploughs suitable for this task. This new feature seeks to facilitate the implementation of practices with covers within the “Carbon Farming” eco-regime of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) .
The extract of the order calling for aid from the 2024 Renewal Plan was published on July 25 in the Official State Gazette. From the 26th, interested parties can purchase the machinery for which they wish to apply for a subsidy, register it in the Official Register of Agricultural Machinery (ROMA) and carry out all the relevant procedures.
Modernizing agriculture to make it more sustainable and reduce environmental impact
The main objective of the Renove Plan is to modernize the machinery fleet by means of incentives to replace old equipment with new ones , which are more suitable to face the socioeconomic and environmental challenges of agriculture. The incorporation of modern machinery promotes the sustainability of farms thanks to safer and more efficient equipment, with a lower environmental impact.
