The Digitalisation Observatory publishes a new working document

The Observatory of the Digitalisation of the Agri-Food Sector , an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cajamar , has published a new working document in which, under the title "The digital transformation in Spanish agriculture", it examines the level of digitalisation in the agricultural sector , using data collected by the Observatory and official sources such as the European Commission and the European Investment Bank.
The report assesses the current implementation of digital technologies in Spanish agriculture . The findings indicate that Spain stands out in Europe for its investment in digital products and advanced machinery to optimize the use of fertilizers and phytosanitary products .
However, despite these achievements, it is still in an early stage in terms of the adoption of certain technologies, such as digital tools for managing irrigation .
Training, crucial to advance agricultural digitalization
Furthermore, it faces significant challenges in overcoming the barriers to digitalisation, with specific training being a crucial factor in facilitating this process.
