The 7th edition of the DATAGRI Forum , a meeting point for promoting innovation and the latest digital technologies in the Spanish agri-food sector, took place on November 13 and 14 at the iHub La Vega Innova (in San Fernando de Henares, Madrid).
During the inauguration of the forum by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, he stressed that Spain must consolidate itself not only as a power in food production and export, but also as a global benchmark in food technology, key to improving its competitiveness and sustainability .
Innovation for large and small farms at DATAGRI 2024
The minister stressed the importance of training and advice as fundamental tools for technology to reach even the smallest farms. In this context, he highlighted the digital notebook, a voluntary solution designed to facilitate agricultural management and encourage generational change in the sector. “We want farmers to adopt it for its benefits and for it to serve as an inspiration for others,” he said.
Public support for digitalisation
The Government, committed to innovation, is promoting various strategies such as the digitalisation of the sector, which has a budget of 64 million euros , and theAgroInnpulso credit line, which has financed 149 projects with more than 26 million euros . In addition, 177 operational groups have been created and 189 innovative supra-regional projects have been launched with support of 108 million euros . The Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy adds 84 million euros until 2027 to promote these initiatives.
Technological transformation, a strategic pillar
Planas recalled that the future National Food Strategy includes the promotion of new technologies as one of its fundamental pillars. This vision is aligned with the European objectives of creating sustainable agri-food systems and making the most of the opportunities offered by innovation.
Datagri: a benchmark in innovation
The Datagri Forum, which brings together companies, universities, cooperatives and agricultural organisations, has established itself as a key meeting point in southern Europe for connecting technology with traditional agri-food production.

Among the activities planned in the DATAGRI 2024 program was the presentation of the AKIS Advisors Platform, which was presented several times during the two days of the event.
