Innovative solutions and experience

Through SosECoCir, the CSIC promotes innovative solutions in the field of materials recycling that help improve the environment and health through systems based on circular economy criteria, with the aim of reducing environmental impact and ensuring the sustainability of production systems by offering innovative solutions through criteria based on the circular economy in the areas of energy transition, eco-design, waste and the environment, and sustainable agriculture and aquaculture. The platform is currently made up of 35 research groups from 20 CSIC centres.

For its part, the FFA has years of experience in the field of the circular economy, collaborating in the development of different projects for the implementation of circular economy strategies at the municipal level, such as the Mataró Circular 2030 Strategy, Maresme Circular, the Parc Circular Vallès or the Plan to Promote the Circular and Green Economy in the Local World developed with the Provincial Council of Barcelona, and different guides for the application of the circular economy in the packaging and agri-food sector. And it has currently launched the Circular Economy Observatory with the aim of disseminating relevant indicators that allow monitoring of circularity for the Spanish economy.
