CNTA launches the sixth edition of Food (Tech)² Challengers and opens the application period until March 13

The National Center for Food Technology and Safety (CNTA) has opened the application period to participate in the 6th edition of Food (Tech)² Challengers , a technology promotion program funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) and aimed at accelerating the development and competitiveness of Spanish foodtech startups , strengthening their connection with the market.

The call for applications is open from February 12, 2026 and will remain active until March 13, 2026 .

A program to improve technological solvency and boost open innovation

Food (Tech)² Challengers was created with the aim of improving the technological solvency of startups, increasing the number of projects with solid proprietary technology and boosting the open innovation ecosystem in the agri-food sector.

In this sixth edition, CNTA will work for six months with up to eight startups , providing them with technological capabilities, facilities, and expert personnel. Furthermore, the intellectual property (IP) generated during the program will be the exclusive property of the participating startup .

Who can apply?

The call is aimed at technology-based foodtech startups with innovative solutions applicable to the agri-food value chain , legally established in Spain and operating within the national territory, that have a well-defined technological challenge that can be addressed during the program.
