Call for new thematic groups of the EU CAP Network

Applications can be submitted until July 9th to participate as an expert in the new thematic discussion groups focused on Forest Health, the Wool Value Chain, and Energy on Farms.

Farmers, foresters, consultants , scientists, and other innovators with specific knowledge and experience in the topics at the focus of this call can apply by Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (Central European Time).

The European Commission is launching a call for experts, including farmers, foresters, advisors, scientists, and other relevant applicants, for three new EU CAP Network Thematic Groups focusing on innovation, knowledge exchange, and the EIP-AGRI. The Thematic Groups will begin their work in September 2025 and are expected to submit their outcomes and recommendations by September 2026.

Topics of the current call:

  • Focus Group 56: Silviculture and Forest Health: New and Emerging Pests and Diseases

Main question: How can we promote the sustainability and resilience of European forests in the face of new and emerging pests and diseases?

First meeting: November 19-20, 2025

  • Focus Group 57: Innovative and sustainable ways to strengthen the role of farmers in revitalizing the European wool value chain

Main question: How can the role of farmers be strengthened in revitalizing and achieving a comprehensive European wool value chain that encompasses both traditional and innovative products, while establishing closer links with industry and consumers?

First meeting: November 27 and 28, 2025

  • Focus Group 58: Innovative Energy Production Systems on Farms

Main question: How can we develop and foster the adoption of context-sensitive, resilient, and farmer-centered on-farm energy systems that enhance sustainability and energy autonomy, while supporting farm viability and environmental objectives?

First meeting: November 18-19, 2025
