AgroBank Tech Digital INNovation opens its 2026 Open Call to boost the digitalization of the agri-food sector

AgroBank Tech Digital INNovation has officially launched its 2026 Open Call , aimed at startups and technology projects that offer innovative solutions to the major challenges facing the agri-food sector. The program seeks initiatives capable of accelerating digital transformation , improving sustainability, and strengthening the sector's competitiveness.

The acceleration program is powered by AgroBank , CaixaBank 's agricultural business line, and boasts the largest AgroTech community in Spain , connecting entrepreneurial talent with companies, experts and key players in the agri-food ecosystem.

The registration period, open from January 12 to February 15, 2026, will allow participants to join projects that address one of the five strategic challenges posed by the call.

Strategic Challenges – 4th Edition

The projects submitted must align with at least one of the five strategic challenges defined for this edition:

Challenge 01. Transformative Technologies in Agrotech
Disruptive solutions in robotics and automation to optimize production processes and the comprehensive management of agricultural and livestock farms, facilitating decision-making in digitized environments.

Challenge 02. Smart water management
Innovative technologies to improve water efficiency, optimize irrigation systems and promote water reuse, contributing to mitigating the impact of climate change.

Challenge 03. Circular Economy and Biotechnology
Projects that promote the circular economy, efficient waste management and its valorization through biotechnology, reducing the environmental footprint of the sector.

Challenge 04. Innovation in packaging, storage and logistics
Eco-friendly packaging solutions, especially those made from agricultural waste, and technologies that optimize the storage, transport and distribution of agri-food products.

Challenge 05. Data platforms and intelligent traceability
Platforms that integrate meteorological, soil and crop data to support decision-making, as well as advanced traceability solutions that strengthen safety and transparency in the food chain.
