Agriculture of Data (AgData) launches its first grants to promote digital solutions in sustainable agriculture

The European partnership Agriculture of Data (AgData) has launched its first joint funding call, entitled “EU-wide data-driven solutions to real problems” , aimed at promoting innovative data-driven solutions that contribute to a more efficient, sustainable and future-oriented European agriculture.

The initiative is aimed at transnational consortia and requires a multi-actor and user-centered approach; in which farmers, advisors, administrations and other actors in the agri-food ecosystem actively participate in the design and validation of the proposals.

Priority lines of work

Projects should focus on one of the following challenges:

1. Technologies and data management
Development of systems and infrastructures to locate, access, store, integrate and process data in accordance with FAIR principles, promoting interoperability and the application of artificial intelligence in the agricultural field.

2. Innovation for sustainable agriculture
Practical tools that facilitate adaptation to climate change, improvement of the functionality of agricultural systems, performance evaluation and informed decision-making.

3. Support for the formulation of public policies
Development of robust indicators and analytical tools that allow the evaluation of the impact of measures such as the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) .

Financing for Spanish entities

Both the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI) and the CDTI will provide financial support for the participation of Spanish organizations within the selected consortia. To access this funding, it will be necessary to meet the conditions set out in the corresponding national annex.

Key dates

  • November 26, 2025, 09:30 CET : International seminar organized by AgData.
  • December 9, 2025, 12:00 CET : National webinar hosted by AEI and CDTI. More information at www.aei.gob.es/agdata .
  • January 21, 2026, 12:00 CET : Deadline for submitting Short Proposals .
  • July 21, 2026, 12:00 CEST : Deadline for Full Proposals .

The selected projects are scheduled to begin in January 2027 , with possible adjustments according to national funding guidelines.

With this call, the AEI , with the support of FECYT , reaffirms its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and consolidating Spain's role in the main European research and innovation programs.
