2nd edition of the MAPA StarBEC program to promote new companies in the agro-food bioeconomy
Description
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food , in collaboration with the AINIA technology centre, has launched the second edition of the " StartBEC " programme, an initiative focused on supporting emerging companies in the agri-food sector within the scope of the bioeconomy. This programme, which will be officially presented on 23 September at the Ministry's headquarters, offers free technological advice and support to help these companies overcome the technical challenges they face in developing new innovative processes and products.
Impact on the development of the agri-food sector
"StartBEC" is characterised by its focus on innovation and technology, providing start-ups with the tools and know-how to bring more sustainable products and advanced solutions to the agri-food market. The first edition of the programme was a great success, with more than eighty start-ups participating and developing innovative projects in areas such as algae, insect and fungus production, with applications ranging from more sustainable fertilisers to new biomaterials.
Thanks to the renewal of the collaboration agreement between the Ministry and AINIA, and with an expanded budget to continue until 2026, the second edition of "StartBEC" will continue to offer individualized advice, pilot tests, and access to innovation and financing dynamics. This initiative continues to promote sustainability and productivity in the agri-food sector, encouraging the development of more circular and sustainable business models that contribute to the future of the bioeconomy.
