2024 Machinery Renewal Plan to promote roofing practices in line with "Carbon Agriculture"
Description
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food will allocate €9.55 million in aid to the National Agricultural Machinery Fleet Renewal Plan, known as the "Plan Renove," for the 2024 financial year. This is the largest budget allocated to date for these plans.
Deadline until September 15 for the 2024 Agricultural Machinery Renewal Plan
The application period for assistance will be open from August 8 to September 15 , inclusive.
The 2024 "Renewal Plan" has two distinct lines : one with €4.55 million to finance the acquisition of direct seeding seeders , and another with €5 million for the rest of the machinery, tractors, and automotive vehicles specified in the order. If funds remain available for either line at the end of the application period, they can be used to fill the waiting list.
Promote green roofs with Renove grants
This year , the regulatory framework has been modified to include equipment for managing plant cover among the eligible machines . Specifically, these include models of brush cutters, strimmer rollers, weeders, and inter-row plows suitable for this task. This change seeks to facilitate the implementation of cover crop practices within the "Carbon Farming" eco-regime of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) .
The extract from the order announcing the 2024 Renewal Plan grants was published on July 25 in the Official State Gazette. Starting on the 26th, interested parties can purchase the machinery for which they wish to apply, register it in the Official Registry of Agricultural Machinery (ROMA), and complete all the relevant procedures.
Modernize agriculture to make it more sustainable and reduce environmental impact
The main objective of the Renove Plan is to modernize the machinery fleet by providing incentives to replace old equipment with new ones that are more suitable for addressing the socioeconomic and environmental challenges of agriculture. The incorporation of modern machinery promotes the sustainability of agricultural operations thanks to safer and more efficient equipment with a lower environmental impact.
