During this session, the Recicland project will be presented , and theory will be taught on the environmental consequences of hazardous waste management and on the internal management of pesticide containers, broth residues, and expired or discontinued products on the farm, as well as on the management of this hazardous waste off-farm.

The main objective of this event is to bring together key leaders and professionals in the wine sector to analyse in depth the current outlook and prepare strategies for the peak sales season and other decisive moments of the year. During the event, key topics will be discussed, such as wine production projections , consumer trends in national and international markets, and price expectations in different product categories. In addition, the opportunities offered by new marketing channels, especially e-commerce, and their impact on the expansion of the sector will be explored . The meeting will also be a platform to examine the challenges facing the industry in a competitive and constantly evolving global environment, offering a space for the exchange of ideas and collaboration between the different actors in the value chain. New consumer trends are evolving rapidly, driven by changes in technology, sustainability and consumer preferences. Consumers are increasingly concerned about the environmental impact of their purchases, and mental and physical health is a priority, favoring the consumption of products that promote well-being, healthy foods and self-care experiences. New alternative ingredients are being introduced into food manufacturing, food analogues (meat) whose consumption is decreasing, as well as new cooking/consumption practices that could have a direct impact on consumer food safety. On December 10, 2024, at the University of Huelva, the HIDRONUT_SAT Operational Group (GO) “Application of high-resolution satellite images from the Copernicus program in the management of nutrition and irrigation in citrus crops” will present its objectives and progress during the ATTENTIA project Dissemination Day. This meeting will feature the researcher from the University of Huelva, Alberto Zabalo and Carlos Chacón, from the Department of Field – PRL – García Carrión 1.890 SL, members of the HIDRONUT Operational Group , to bring together objectives and advances deployed in this initiative. It should be noted that through this innovative initiative, the Andalusian citrus sector will have access to new digital tools to optimize water and nutrient management, and improve decision-making for the economic and environmental sustainability of producers and industry, improving traceability and transparency in transactions between the links in the production chain. GO HIDRONUT is formed by García Carrión 1890 and the Campus of International Excellence in Agro-Food Consortium (ceiA3) together with the research group ' Integrated management of agricultural and natural resources | AGR-227 ' of the University of Huelva, with the collaboration of the Association for Rural Development of Western Andévalo-Adrao. To transfer to the sector the results obtained from the experimental work that is being carried out and that the farmer could not develop individually, in order to investigate the behaviour of the varieties and the different strategies to guarantee the sustainability of the crops. From 10 to 12 December 2024 , Brussels will host the second edition of the EU Agri-Food Days . This annual event brings together key players in the agri-food sector from across the European Union to discuss the latest trends in agriculture, policy options and market developments, as well as the impact of research, innovation and digital technologies on the future of European agriculture. Over three days, the event will provide a unique platform for dialogue between stakeholders in the agri-food system, civil society, academia and policy makers. Pitaya is an exotic fruit that is beginning to be cultivated in Spain with very high expectations. This conference will present the results obtained with the NGS pitaya cultivation system developed by New Growing System after three study campaigns (2022-2023 and 2024). Aspects related to the entry into production, yields and quality of the harvest obtained with the self-compatible Caramel Desert varieties and pollination systems will also be addressed . The facilities with the pitaya cultivation will be visited.

The Economics, Post-harvest and Industry Working Groups of the Spanish Society of Horticultural Sciences (SECH) are organizing a new online Congress on "The agri-food challenge in the face of climate change" that will take place online on December 3 and 4 . The challenges of the agri-food sector in the current climate change scenario and the 2030 Agenda require a response from the entire agri-food chain, from production, through industry, process improvement, marketing and responsible food consumption, and influencing the responsibility of society itself. These challenges become challenges and opportunities that will be addressed at the Congress. The conference will be organised in sessions that will include oral presentations and invited speakers with works related to fruit and vegetable production, post-harvest, circular economy and environmental sustainability.

Digitalisation in the agricultural sector is a crucial challenge, especially for a wide range of small and micro-sized agricultural companies (SMEs), as well as for the state administration, which must coordinate with the Autonomous Communities and the European Union. In this context, the event will analyse the challenges and opportunities posed by digitalisation within the legislative framework of the CAP-27 and the Nature Restoration Law , including aspects such as the Digital Exploitation Notebook (CUE) and its integration with the databases managed by FEGA in Spain. The event will bring together experts from the administration and private companies who will share their experiences in the development of technological solutions for connectivity and data management. After the presentations, there will be a round table where attendees will be able to interact directly with the professionals.

The co-funded European Partnerships are associations of national and regional R&D funders, research organisations and the European Commission.
