UPA and FADEMUR Galicia are organizing an online technical workshop to promote the incorporation of young people and women into the agroforestry sector.
Description
On July 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers (UPA), in collaboration with FADEMUR Galicia, will hold the third edition of the technical workshop "Youth and Women in the Agroforestry Sector," an initiative focused on overcoming access barriers to this key sector for rural development. The event will be held online and will be open to those interested in learning about opportunities and strategies for entering the agrifood and forestry sector.
This activity aims to promote the inclusion of young people and women in the agroforestry sector by disseminating tools, innovative approaches, and inspiring experiences. Four main themes will be addressed:
- Green jobs: Analysis of new job opportunities related to environmental sustainability in traditional and emerging sectors.
- Glocalization : strategies for adapting global initiatives to local realities in rural areas.
- Non-timber resources : valorization of alternative forest products (such as mushrooms, resins, wild fruits) through sustainable use.
- Circular economy : promoting production models based on reduction, reuse, and recycling in agroforestry environments.
This event is part of a series of initiatives developed by FADEMUR Galicia to promote generational renewal and gender equity in rural areas, strengthening the role of women and youth as key agents of transformation and sustainability.
