Description

The technical conference "Agrivoltaics: solar energy beyond the kilowatt-hour" , an event held within the framework of the parallel activities open to the XX Iberian Congress and XVI Ibero-American Congress of Solar Energy (CIES 2026) , will take place on March 25, 2026 , from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. , in the Conference Room of the Economic Sciences Building of the University of Almería .

Organized by CIESOL , the Center for Research in Solar Energy, a joint center of the University of Almería and CIEMAT (Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research), the session seeks to offer a complete and applied vision of agrivoltaics as a dual-use approach to land —agricultural production and solar generation—, with special attention to real experiences in different types of crops and the potential of Almería to become a benchmark in this field.
