Description

A growing number of risks threaten the income and well-being of farmers in Mediterranean countries. Climate variability, health challenges, market risks, and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events severely affect the viability of farms. To mitigate and transfer the risks faced by producers, a wide range of strategies has been developed, primarily based on government interventions. In this context, agricultural insurance programs offer promising opportunities for effectively managing risks in agriculture.

The course aims to provide decision-makers and professionals in the insurance sector with up-to-date information on advanced tools available for risk management in agriculture. It will focus on the design, implementation, and evaluation of insurance programs tailored to the specific conditions of the Mediterranean region.

RECIPIENTS

The course is designed for professionals with university degrees who are responsible for designing agricultural policies or who work in insurance companies and other organizations related to agricultural insurance. It is also aimed at managers, technical advisors, researchers, academics, and experts working in agricultural insurance and risk management.
