Presentation of the results of the European project BroilerNet on innovation and sustainability in poultry production
Description
The European network EUFRAS will hold a new “Coffee Break” session on May 28, 2026, focusing on the European project BroilerNet , an initiative that works to improve broiler chicken production through innovation, collaboration and knowledge exchange between different actors in the European poultry sector.
The session, which will take place at 10:00 a.m. (CET) online via Zoom, will show how the project has connected farmers, advisors, veterinarians and scientists from 13 European countries to identify practical solutions to some of the main challenges in the sector.
Among the priority areas addressed by BroilerNet are:
- animal welfare,
- animal health,
- and environmental sustainability.
Thanks to its innovative approach based on exchange and collaboration networks, the project has identified more than 100 Good Practices, including 24 “Champion” practices, selected and subsequently analyzed through economic cost-benefit assessments.
The results and materials developed within the framework of the project are already being disseminated among stakeholders in the sector through fact sheets, videos, webinars and the Broiler Knowledge Hub, a platform designed to facilitate access to the knowledge generated.
During this Coffee Break session, the BroilerNet team will present:
- the innovative approach and innovation networks developed by the project,
- Examples of “Champion” Best Practices
- the main sustainability challenges identified,
- and the tools and resources available to the sector.
The event will feature the participation of:
- Stefan Gunnarsson
- Annunziata Palamara
The meeting is presented as an opportunity to learn about innovative experiences and discuss the sustainable future of poultry production in Europe.
