Launch day of the Preliminary Market Consultation of the ARISTECH Project to promote the automation of milking in dairy sheep
Description
The Agrarian Technological Institute of Castilla y León ( ITACyL ) will hold the Launch Day of the Preliminary Market Consultation (PMC) of the ARISTECH Project on November 28 , from 11:00 to 12:00 h , a strategic Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) initiative aimed at developing technological solutions that allow the automation of the milking process and guarantee the sustainability of the dairy sheep sector.
The session will be held virtually and is aimed at manufacturers of milking robots, artificial intelligence integrators, sensor companies, technology centers and AgroTech start-ups , as well as any organization interested in contributing to this technological challenge.
A strategic sector with urgent challenges
Castilla y León leads the production of sheep milk in Spain ( 52.7% of the national total ) and is the first community in cheese production ( one out of every three cheeses produced in the country ).
However, the sector faces a serious structural problem: a lack of labor and generational replacement . Between 2010 and 2025, the number of dairy sheep farms has decreased by 57.9% , jeopardizing the future of an activity that is key to many rural areas.
ARISTECH: innovation to transform milking
The ARISTECH Project , promoted by ITACyL through Public Procurement of Innovation , aims to promote advanced technological solutions for the automation of milking parlors , reducing the need for personnel to a maximum of one person per parlor .
The goal is to strengthen the economic, social and productive sustainability of farms, opening the door to new technologies based on robotics, AI, sensors and systems integration.
Preliminary Market Consultation
The CPM is the first phase of the CPI and will allow us to gather market information, assess technical feasibility, and explore potential avenues for innovation before defining a future tender. During the session, the technological challenges, expected functionalities, and next steps in the process will be presented.
