Digital tools for the efficient and sustainable production of truffles
Description
This conference aims to present the main preliminary results of the DIPROTES project – Improving canopy and irrigation management in truffle plantations through digitization and 3D monitoring of farms to increase productive efficiency and sustainability. The project seeks to transfer Precision Agriculture techniques to the Catalan black truffle production sector. The objective is to improve truffle cultivation processes through the digitization of farms and the generation of information to inform management decisions, thereby increasing productivity, the efficient use of resources such as irrigation water, and overall sustainability. The project is a collaboration between CERCA Agrotecnio and the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia. CERCA Agrotecnio contributes its Precision Agriculture expertise and equipment, while the Forest Science and Technology Centre provides its expertise in truffle cultivation, as well as its demonstration fields.
