Description

On April 9, 2026 , the House of Science in Seville (CSIC) will host the face-to-face conference “Transition to clean energies to maintain business competitiveness in times of energy uncertainty” , an event organized by the CTA Innovation Observatory with the collaboration of the CSIC .

The meeting, which will be held from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. , will address one of the major current challenges for companies: the impact of energy volatility, geopolitical instability and regulatory changes on economic activity and the competitive capacity of the business fabric.

In a context marked by uncertainty in energy markets, the day will focus on the need to anticipate scenarios and advance in transition processes towards clean energy as a strategic element for decision-making and business sustainability.

Joan Batalla, main speaker of the day

The session will feature the participation of Joan Batalla , a leading expert in the energy sector, professor at the University of Barcelona , president of SEDIGAS and general director of FUNSEAM , a foundation specializing in energy and environmental sustainability.

With more than two decades of experience in the fields of economics, industry and energy, Batalla developed a prominent part of his career at the National Energy Commission (CNE) between 2005 and 2013, where he worked on issues related to energy regulation and the functioning of markets.

Keys to understanding the new energy scenario

During the day, issues such as the effect of energy volatility on business competitiveness, the influence of the geopolitical and war context on markets, energy sovereignty, regulatory challenges and medium-term prospects will be analyzed.

The meeting will also allow for reflection on the importance of promoting the transition to clean energy and will offer practical keys for companies and professionals to make decisions in an increasingly complex and uncertain environment.

The event is specifically aimed at managers, business leaders and professionals interested in better understanding the current energy landscape and identifying strategies to strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of their organizations.

The event will take place at the Seville Science Center (CSIC) , located at Avenida de María Luisa, s/n, Pabellón de Perú, 41013 Seville . Those interested can consult the full program and register through the channels provided by the organizers.
