Ending date: 18/12/2025
Modality: Online
Location: On-line

Description

On December 18, 2025 , Cajamar will hold the free webinar “SII. Biomass and Biochar, a sustainable solution for soil improvement” , an online training session lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes that will address the role of biochar as a key tool in soil regeneration, the circular economy and the fight against climate change.

This meeting, aimed at both beginners and specialists , is part of the Circular Economy and Bioeconomy value chain and is one of a series of three webinars dedicated to biochar. The session will analyze opportunities for valorizing difficult-to-manage biomass waste , as well as real-world examples of circularity in the agricultural sector .

The webinar will delve into how incorporating biochar into the soil improves fertility, structure, and water retention capacity , as well as transforming agricultural waste and agro-industrial byproducts into high-value fertilizers and soil amendments . From olive biomass to complex waste products, the webinar will showcase innovative case studies that transform environmental challenges into regenerative solutions.

Program and speakers

The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a welcome address by Carlos Baixauli Soria , director of the Cajamar Experience Center. Following this, at 4:40 p.m. , Sebastian Shrady , founder and CEO of Emerging Carbon , will discuss biochar as a tool for regenerative development and climate resilience.

At 5:00 p.m. , Ángel Yedra Martínez , Manager of Advanced Materials and Nanomaterials at the CTC Technology Center, will present a practical example of biochar application in soils as a model of circularity in agriculture. Following this, at 5:40 p.m. , Emilio Sánchez Peña , Head of Institutional Relations at Greene, will explain the utilization of difficult-to-recycle biomass waste for the production of fertilizers and soil amendments.

The session will conclude with a round table discussion , moderated by Carlos Baixauli, in which all the speakers will participate, and will end at 6:00 p.m.

Registration open

Registration for the webinar is free and will remain open for the next few days. This session is the second in a series dedicated to biochar. The series will conclude on January 15th with the third webinar, titled “YIII. Obtaining and Using Biochar.”

With this initiative, Cajamar reinforces its commitment to sustainability, agro-environmental innovation and the transition towards a more circular and resilient production model in the face of climate change .
