This year, the Forum commemorates its tenth anniversary under the theme "Rural Development in the New International Context."

This special edition of the Forum takes place within a global and national context marked by profound economic, social, technological, and geopolitical changes. Throughout its various editions, the FNDR has consistently addressed the main challenges facing the agri-food sector and rural areas , tackling key issues such as rural development, cooperation among stakeholders, the relationship between urban and rural environments, the integration of young people into the sector, new agri-food challenges, professionalization, training, innovation, and digitalization, always from a perspective of environmental and economic sustainability .

A program focused on the major challenges of the sector

To mark its tenth anniversary, the Forum will offer a comprehensive overview of the major challenges and opportunities facing the agri-food sector and rural areas in the current context . Key themes shaping the discussion include geopolitical uncertainty , regulatory changes , technological transformations , and the need to move towards a fairer, more sustainable, and inclusive development model .

Furthermore, the College is honored to have the participation of Gonzalo Eiriz Gervás , Deputy Director General for Agricultural, Fisheries, Food and Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, in the Forum. He will coordinate and moderate the first technical panel, entitled “Geopolitics of Agri-food Systems,” and will deliver the opening lecture, entitled “New Geopolitics of Agri-food Systems.”

The 10th National Rural Development Forum is thus consolidated as a benchmark space for analysis, debate and the generation of proposals aimed at promoting the future of rural areas and the agri-food system, bringing together institutional representatives, professionals from the sector, companies, innovation entities and knowledge agents in an environment as outstanding as FIMA Zaragoza.
