Practical Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
Description
The Official College of Agricultural Engineers of Andalusia , through the Andalusian Foundation of Agricultural Engineers , is launching an introductory course to Artificial Intelligence (AI) aimed at providing a clear, practical and accessible first contact with this technology, both for its professional application and for personal and everyday uses.
This training is aimed at agricultural engineers , Master's students in Agricultural Engineering , agricultural technical engineers , graduates in Agri-food and Rural Engineering , as well as other graduates, Master's students, and professionals in the field of engineering interested in understanding and using AI effectively. No prior knowledge of this subject is required, beyond basic computer and internet browser skills.
The main objective of the course is for participants to understand what Artificial Intelligence really is , beyond the trend or media hype, to learn what types of tools currently exist , which ones are most useful according to each need, and to learn how to formulate good queries or "prompts" to obtain quality and reliable answers.
The program is structured in several modules, covering everything from the basics of AI —language, image, and prediction models, as well as their possibilities and limitations—to its practical applications in information management, writing, organization, and decision support . It will also address AI tools accessible to any user , such as text-based assistants and their integration with common applications, along with a specific module on best practices, common errors, and responsible use , which will be covered through a hands-on workshop with guided exercises .
The course will be delivered via a 4-hour videoconference , supplemented with teaching materials in PDF format . To obtain the certificate of completion , it will be necessary to attend the live session or watch the recording and pass a final assessment.
The training course will be led by Luisa María Lara Ruiz , Director General of Management Strategy, and will take place on January 29, 2026. Registration will be open until January 28, 2026 , with between 10 and 100 places available.
The registration fee is €50 for members and €70 for non-members . Members who wish to take both this introductory course and the supplementary AI training for professionals can benefit from a combined price of €120 .
With this initiative, the College reinforces its commitment to bringing digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence closer to the agricultural engineering community in a practical, understandable and applied way.
