Improving business competitiveness
Description
Course organised to provide members of the Governing Councils with tools, knowledge and skills to improve their professionalism and facilitate the exercise of their functions. It aims to help improve the skills of members of the Governing Councils in their daily functions, such as meetings or decision-making, and to raise awareness of the Governing Council regarding the need to make strategic decisions to respond to the challenges and trends that arise in the sector. This course also aims to improve the functioning of cooperative societies as competitive business systems that can adapt to the continuous changes in the environment, overcome the challenges of an increasingly open and global market, while taking advantage of opportunities in an efficient and sustainable way.
In short, training future directors, primarily young people and women, to ensure the future smooth running of cooperatives.
Students of this course may:
- Members of the cooperative's governing board. Attendance of “at least 50% of the members of the governing board” is required . The minimum number of students will be 10.
- Members of the governing councils of various Cooperatives or Agrarian Associative Entities.
- Current members and future directors may also participate, with priority given to young people and women.
- In courses in which directors of several cooperatives participate, priority will be given to members of governing councils of cooperatives that are in the process of integration or to those cooperatives whose integration is intended to be promoted.
- Criteria related to the cooperative's business activity (sector) and territorial criteria (promotion of cooperation projects in economic diversification) will also be taken into account.
