Big data and satellite IoT applications in crop monitoring
Description
The overall objective of this course is to provide participants with theoretical and practical knowledge on the use of Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and satellite analysis for crop tracking, monitoring, and management , in order to optimize agricultural production and resource sustainability .
On the other hand, the specific objectives are:
• Understand the context and importance of Big Data and IoT in precision agriculture . Identify key Big Data and IoT concepts applied to agriculture. Understand the main remote sensors and satellites used in agricultural management. Understand the fundamentals of satellite data processing and analysis.
• Explore satellite data sources and integration with IoT technologies . Become familiar with satellite data download platforms and IoT sensor networks in the field. Apply agricultural Big Data processing techniques. Use machine learning for satellite image analysis and predictive modeling.
• Apply Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in precision agriculture. Identify the main sources of geographic information. Understand the fundamentals of GIS and its use in agricultural management. Perform spatial analysis of crops using GIS and satellite data.
• Explore new technologies for precision agriculture and their practical applications. Introduce the use of drones for agricultural monitoring. Apply monitoring tools to assess water stress and crop health. Optimize the use of water and other resources through Big Data.
