Advisor training: agrovoltaics course

Modality: Online

Description

Agrivoltaics integrates the production of electricity from solar energy with agricultural and livestock activities in the same space. By installing photovoltaic modules on agricultural land, the aim is not only to generate electricity but also to optimize land use for growing crops or raising livestock, without these activities being mutually exclusive. This model contributes to the use of renewable energy sources, promotes more sustainable land use, and fosters biodiversity protection and environmental preservation. Furthermore, it enables the creation of shared value with local communities and the region where the solar plants are located, generating new opportunities for collaboration among agronomists, agricultural companies, universities, non-profit organizations, and specialized startups, which add value to each project.

This course is designed to explore the principles and benefits of agrivoltaics, showing how the coexistence of solar energy and agriculture is a key solution to current challenges related to environmental sustainability and food security.
