Description

The Montearagón CPIFP is a vocational training center that offers Basic Vocational Training (FPB), Intermediate Vocational Training (IPT), and Advanced Vocational Training (AVT) courses in various categories: Agriculture, Mechanical Manufacturing, and Sociocultural and Community Services. The center is located in the city of Huesca. The majority of the center's students are from the province, and many of them come from small rural areas.

Description of activities

1. Student mobility for internships in companies:

  • Mobility for students who have completed the full FCT. These are mobility programs in which students complete the entire FCT in a European company. They are aimed at students who stand out both for their behavior and their academic and professional skills. Mobility for students who are partially completing the FCT: Two scholarships are available for groups of four (8 participants in total). These scholarships were for a group of students studying the intermediate level of Agricultural Production and Care for Dependent Persons. They will last 15 days and will be accompanied by a teacher. They were offered in the intermediate level and primary vocational training (FPB) in Forestry Operations and in the CFGM (General Training Program) in Care for Dependent Persons. Long-term Erasmus Pro student mobility: One scholarship is available for recent graduates with a strong interest in undertaking work experience in an EU country.

2. Mobility for teacher training:

  • This mobility program took place at an educational center and provided the opportunity to acquire new professional and teaching techniques that could be applied at the center. The project was managed by the CPIFP Montearagón Mobility Committee, which will contribute to both achieving and disseminating the results.
Contextual description

The European Plan for the Internationalization and Development of the Center began in 2012 with the awarding of the first mobility project and the development of four more projects within the KA102 action. This project, "Montearagón Expands New Horizons," which would be the fifth, was intended to provide continuity and promote the center's internationalization with the support of the European Union.

Objectives

One of the center's main objectives during the life of this project was to update and modernize through new studies and activities that would help both faculty and students open their minds and adapt to a new lifestyle characterized by constant change, a point made even more important by the global pandemic that occurred during this period. For this reason, the management considered and considers the center's internationalization under European mobility programs to be an essential step toward achieving the planned modernization and updating.

Results

Students who completed their mobility during the first year of the project received recognition through the Europass professional certificate and the company certificate. With the exception of Erasmus Pro mobility, their mobility was included in the Workplace Training module and, therefore, in the academic certification of their degree. This project led to an increase in participation in these programs among both students and staff, a reduction in the dropout rate among FPB students, and an improvement in student employability. In the long term, it has contributed to improving the center's international image, both within and outside our borders, thanks to the prestige and recognition of participating in Erasmus projects.
