Demonstrating that IPM works

Publication date: 08/11/2022

Description

IPMWORKS is a Horizon 2020 project which aims to demonstrate ways to significantly reduce pesticides in all European agricultural sectors. It is a network of demonstration farm hubs giving farmers the opportunity to exchange knowledge about non-chemical methods to control pests and reduce pest pressure. 21 hubs are now installed in 14 European countries promoting the adoption of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies through peer-to-peer learning and joint efforts, demonstrating how “a holistic IPM approach can allow a low reliance on pesticides with better pest control, reduced costs and enhanced profitability” (ipmworks.net).

The soon to be launched IPMWORKS Resource Toolbox will connect farmers, advisors, researchers and policy makers with information and training on pest management, advancing IPM strategies on farms across Europe. The Toolbox will promote resources generated from IPMWORKS, IPM Decision, and other pan-European initiatives.

IPMWORKS also promotes the use of the IPM Decisions European on-line platform for IPM decision support systems (DSS). This platform aims to increase access to, and uptake and impact of ready for use DSS for IPM. Take a look here.
