The 140 members of civil society that made up the RRN Assembly have been summoned to learn in person and first-hand:
- The revitalization activities carried out by the NRN in the last year
- The conversion of the NRN to the “National CAP Network”
- Get to know the new “European CAP Network”
- Open a debate and make suggestions for the new period
CAP National Network
The new Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027 is scheduled to come into force on 1 January 2023. For the first time, a single plan (the CAP Strategic Plan) will integrate the rural development interventions of the seventeen autonomous communities, as well as the supra-autonomous measures that in previous periods were in the 18 Rural Development Programs.
Due to this, the National Rural Network (RRN) is transformed into the CAP National Network to bring together under the same umbrella both the agricultural policies of the first pillar and the rural development policies of the second pillar. This change implies a transfer of functions within departments of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food . Thus, the NRN moves from the general directorate of Rural Development, Innovation and Agri-Food Training, to the Ministry of Agriculture, more specifically to the general subdirectorate of Agrarian Policy Planning.
News
The CAP National Network becomes an open network without membership. Therefore, this change in governance implies that the current Executive Committee of the RRN will not be renewed nor will new members be included in its assembly.
With the idea of maintaining the strong network of contacts and work carried out by the RRN for 14 years, all members who made up the RRN Assembly until now will continue to be invited to participate in all new activities that will be developed soon, as well as to send proposals and suggestions for collaboration.
The new National CAP Network will be in charge of ensuring compliance with the objectives of the new CAP 23-27. To this end, all communication and dissemination activities carried out until now will be maintained, giving greater prominence to the economic and environmental objectives set out in the new PEPAC.
In any case, the RRN will retain its acronym, name and visual identity to continue being recognized as a national reference in the interests of rural development, and now also in favor of agricultural policies.
RRN Activities 21-22
As a finishing touch to the existence of the RRN as it was known until now, its outgoing team has detailed the activities carried out by the RRN in the last period in terms of:
- Rural youth
- Rural women
- LEADER approach
- Innovation
- Entrepreneurship
- Good practices
All the conferences, publications, meetings and material generated on these topics can be consulted on the RRN website , which will remain current, updated and with the current domain for the next period, as it will be the same page that houses the National Network of the CAP.
