Identification of the main forest trees and shrubs

This training aims to: introduce participants to the world of botany, teach them how to look at plant organs to recognize the differences between species, learn the distinctive morphological characteristics that allow each plant species to be identified, and determine, using scientific nomenclature, the most common species of forest trees and shrubs in the Sierra de Cazorla (Mediterranean mountain), observing them in the field, that is, in their natural habitat.

• Duration: 20 hours.
  
• Application period: from May 11th.
  
• Number of places: 14, with a minimum of 10.
  
• Materials and equipment needed: clothing and footwear suitable for walking in the mountains.

• Basic plant biology.
• Morphology of plant organs. Botanical terms used to describe them.
• Scientific nomenclature of plant species.
• Basic plant taxonomy.
• Visual identification of the main tree species of the Sierra de Cazorla.
• Visual identification of the main shrub species of the Sierra de Cazorla
