Free in-person specialization day “Greenhouse Horticulture: Technology, Efficiency and Future”, which addresses the keys to optimizing horticultural production in greenhouses: efficient water management, pest and disease control, robotics and digital tools, and strategic vision of the fruit and vegetable sector in southeastern Spain.

This practical workshop is aimed at professionals in the horticultural sector who want to improve their results and stay at the forefront of greenhouse production. The workshop will take place at the Cajamar Las Palmerillas Experimental Station.

Context of the Day:

Greenhouses are one of the most efficient and competitive horticultural production systems in the world, but also one of the most demanding in terms of technical expertise and adaptability. Advances in water management, pest control, robotics, climate control, and cultivation technology are opening up new opportunities for those working in this sector, as well as new challenges for optimizing greenhouse horticulture.

  • Efficient management of irrigation water: managing water resources as a lever for sustainability and competitiveness.
  • Pest and disease control: biological control strategies, monitoring tools and sustainable plant protection.
  • Robotics and specialized digital tools in greenhouses: technological solutions that are transforming production processes, with special attention to the tools available on Plataforma Tierra.
  • Overview of the fruit and vegetable sector in southeastern Spain: analysis of the current situation and the main factors that condition the competitiveness of farms.
