Online course "Cover management in vineyards"
Description
Given the growing interest among winegrowers in increasing their knowledge of cover crop management to achieve maximum effectiveness, SEAE offers this online course to learn about the multiple functions of cover crops in the agroecosystem (protection against erosion, increased biodiversity, thermal and water regulation, etc.)
This training will help you understand this multifunctionality in order to achieve proper handling, choosing the most appropriate installation and maintenance options.
GOALS
- Understanding the multiple functions of plant cover crops in organic vineyards
- Identify the different plant cover management systems.
- Design and schedule the installation and maintenance of green roofs.
METHODOLOGY and EVALUATION
The main syllabus and supplementary materials will be available for download from the platform to facilitate study, according to student availability. There will also be virtual classroom sessions with instructors participating via Zoom videoconference, and recordings of each session will be uploaded for download. A dynamic online environment with forums will be available for discussion and problem-solving among experts. A practical exercise will be conducted, simulating a "real-world" case , so that students can apply their knowledge (roof design/management, farm and facility design, animal diet formulation, etc.).
The course is entirely online and consists of 5 modules, with a planned duration of 21 hours over a 3-week period. The online portion of the course will utilize SEAE's online platform, which hosts the main syllabus, developed by the course instructors, as well as supplementary and reference materials, bibliographical references, links of interest, and a practical exercise for students to apply their newly acquired knowledge. All materials are downloadable.
There will be multiple-choice self-assessments for each topic and a final evaluation prior to obtaining the certificate.
