Free webinar: CYVCV (yellow vein chlorosis), a new threat to Spanish citrus farming
Description
Spanish citrus farming faces a new phytosanitary challenge with the detection of the Citrus Yellow Vein Clearing Virus (CYVCV) , first identified in Spain at the end of 2025 and initially confirmed in Catalonia and later in the Valencian Community .
In this context, Cajamar , in collaboration with Generalitat Valenciana and IVIA , is organizing a free training webinar on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, to update knowledge about the pathogen, its symptoms and the current situation, as well as the phytosanitary measures activated by the competent authorities, management recommendations and the main lines of research for its control and prevention.
CYVCV is considered an emerging disease in citrus and can cause significant commercial damage , especially in lemon and lime ; in orange and mandarin the infection may be asymptomatic, making it difficult to detect visually.
