Description
iRiego will offer the course “Digitization of irrigation plots” , a practical training aimed at farmers, advisors and technicians interested in learning how digitization can transform water management on their farms.
Throughout the two days, field demonstrations will be held that will allow participants to observe how digital tools optimize irrigation , improve water efficiency and contribute to more sustainable resource management.
The course aims to bring irrigation technology closer to the agricultural sector, showing in a practical way the real benefits of digitalization in daily decision-making.
DAY 1. Wednesday, March 4, 2026
- 9 hours. MODULE 1. Irrigation Systems: Definition of criteria and specific requirements for irrigated plots. Data analysis using Big Data to select the most suitable alternative for each plot and owner. Economic and feasibility study. Importance of project management in digitized plots. MODULE 2. Importance of incorporating irrigation and automation in irrigated plots. Automation in irrigated plots. Hydraulic valves. Different types of hydraulic valves. Pilots and sensors coupled to hydraulic valves. Flow meters and digital sensors. Types of flow meters and meters. Other sensors.
- 12 hours. Rest
- 12:30 PM. MODULE 3. Decision-making based on real-time data analysis. Types of data to analyze in digitized irrigation. Real-time data interpretation. Practical case studies to increase water efficiency, minimize losses, and increase the profitability of irrigated crops. Tools and software for irrigation analysis. Irrigation apps as a basis for data study and visualization. Continuous feedback: artificial intelligence as an irrigation tool.

DAY 2. Thursday, March 5, 2026
- 9 hours. MODULE 4: The digitized irrigation plot. Choosing the irrigation pattern for digitized buried mulches. Studying flow rates and pressures to ensure efficient and cost-effective irrigation. The importance of materials and quality. Common problems often overlooked in poorly designed or installed buried mulches. Mobile applications for buried mulches. Testing the most common sensors and automation systems used in digitized buried mulches on a pressurized test bench.

- 11:30 a.m. MODULE 5. The digitized plot using irrigation pivots: Choosing the type of digitized irrigation pivot. Studying flow rates and pressures to ensure efficient and cost-effective irrigation. The importance of materials and quality. Common problems often overlooked in poorly designed or installed pivot irrigation systems. Mobile applications for irrigation pivots.
- 13 hours. MODULE 6. Visit to a digitized irrigation plot. Visit to a fully digitized irrigation plot equipped with buried covers. Visit to a fully digitized irrigation plot equipped with a center pivot system. On-site demonstration of a pilot-operated hydraulic valve.
