SEAE technical workshop on seeds, biodiversity and climate change to strengthen resilience through organic production
Description
The Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (SEAE) is organizing the technical conference “Seeds, biodiversity and climate change: Strategies for resilience and sustainability from organic production” , a face-to-face activity aimed at rural professionals interested in the role of genetic diversity and agroecological management to adapt to climate change.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2026 in Paredes de Nava (Palencia) , with a planned duration of 6 hours (from 10:00 to 18:00) .
A space to share experiences and update the regulatory framework
The session will address the regulatory and technical aspects related to the production, marketing, exchange and use of plant reproductive material in organic production, as well as focusing on the genetic biodiversity available in the territory and on strategies to use it as a lever for resilience.
Program
The program combines practical experiences, a regulatory update, and a participatory space:
- Local seed banks and experiences in variety conservation (garlic, vegetables and wheat).
- Online intervention by No Patents on Seeds on patents and access to biological resources.
- Latest developments in European seed regulations , by SEAE.
- Participatory round table with associations of organic producers from different territories.
