Description
The project seeks sustainable alternatives to plastic in the packaging of mini vegetables, such as cucumbers and peppers. Active trays made of micro-corrugated cardboard with bioactive coatings are being developed, improving product preservation and complying with European environmental regulations.
Contextual description
Innovative packaging that replaces plastic trays made from petroleum-derived materials and complies with European regulations, adapting to a more regulated current market.
Results
Various solutions have been obtained for micro-corrugated cardboard trays for flow-pack closure, or heat-sealable trays (with cellophane film and other biopolymers) for packaging snack cucumbers and mini peppers, replacing plastic packaging.
